Bastrop ESD1 has an ISO PPC classification of 4. To read about what these classifications mean,
go to here.
Within 5 miles of any ESD 1 station (road miles is our understanding)
has a classification of 4. Anything beyond 5 miles of a station unfortunately receives a 10 (nothing we can really do about that, since
classifications only impact those within 5 miles of a station). Fire hydrant location makes no difference
because the ESD departments did so well in water shuttle operations.
Only 9% of communities in Texas have a better rating. See this page for a graph showing the number of communities by classification.
This rating is a result of all departments within the ESD pulling together to get the proper equipment, documentation, and a water shuttle test. This may lower
your insurance if you are within 5 miles of a fire station and your insurance company uses ISO PPC classifications.
